Rarely, very rarely, in the life of the tea-weary aficionado does one encounter a leaf that imperiously demands one's immediate attention and reverential admiration.
This Mokrung unblended single-estate CTC is, unquestionably, such a tea. Unlike rolled orthodox teas, CTC is macerated by a series of clawed metal rollers - a process that enhances the tea's liquoring property. Which means, of course, It is best taken with milk.
Tea tasters usually describe teas of this quality as 'thick, earthy, gutty, brisk and malty'.
